Mr. Sadler is the color guard specialist for Lovejoy ISD.
A native of Dallas/Fort Worth, David Sadler graduated from Frisco High School in 2002. While in high school Mr. Sadler was active in the band program as a French Horn Section Leader, Captain of the tennis team, National Honors Society, and participated in many other student organizations. After graduation, he attended Collin College and received his Associates Degree before teaching Color Guard full time. As a Director, Mr. Sadler focuses on growing passionate student performers that are an asset to the Lovejoy Band program and the school district. Mr. Sadler is very excited to start overseeing our Middle School and High School programs as they grow and thrive in the coming years!
In addition to Lovejoy High School, Mr. Sadler is part of the Color Guard instructional team for the Howard Payne University Summer Band and Leadership Camps. He is also the Choreographer for Clarksville High School Color Guard (5th at the UIL 2A State Marching Contest)
Mr. Sadler comes to Lovejoy from McKinney High School. As the Color Guard Director, his teams earned many awards including being the 2014 NTCA Regional A Gold Medalist, and 2016 NTCA Scholastic National A Silver Medalists. His programs also made the 2016 UIL 5A State Marching Band Contest finishing 12th, and made finals at multiple WGI Regionals (Dallas and Tulsa, OK).
His other Color Guard experience includes being on Staff for the DCI - World Class, Pioneer Drum and Bugle Corps in 2014. Mr. Sadler was a staff member of an Independent A Class Winter Guard - Texas Independent (NTCA 2012 and 2013 Silver Medalist and 2012 and 2013 WGI World Championships Participant). Mr. Sadler worked with Irving Nimitz High School from 2011-2013 (2013 NTCA Regional AAA Class Gold Medalist). Mr. Sadler also was the Circuit Administrator for the North Texas Color Guard Association from 2011-2013 where he managed over 200 competitive Winter Guards and indoor percussion performance groups.
